英語を話しているとボキャブラリーのなさにいつもがっかりするけど、
特に、日常普通に使う簡単そうな単語が思いつかない。
それはそうだろう、いつも使う英語の教材は、ビジネス系とか、エッセイとか、
小難しいのが多くて、若者向けのドラマとか、恋愛小説みたいな、
日常会話が出て来るようなものが少ないからだ。
今日は、普通っぽい単語がいくつか出て来たので、それを復習。
dim（noun)
dim place do not have much light in them, so you cannot see very well.
例）The kitchen was too dim to find the knife.
clunker (noun)
an old vehicle or machine that is in very bad condition.
例）His job is to refurbish clunkers for vintage car manias.
paper-based (adj)
made of paper
例）I prefer reading paper-based book rather than reading digital based electronic books.
text (verb)
to send a written message to someone using a mobile phone
例）How often do you text your friends? I don’t often text all day.
perk (noun)
an advantage
例）What is the perks of your job?
zit (noun)
アメリカ人はニキビのことを pimpleではなくzitと言うらしい
例）Whenever I find any zit on my face, I feel down.
cheat day (noun)
A day on which you are allowed to break your diet.
これは覚えたいフレーズ！
Mind if I take a rain check on that drink/invitation?
something-used to tell someone that you cannot accept an invitation now, but would like to do so at a later time.
やんわりお断りする時に使えそう！
I’ll take a rain check.

Can I take a rain check?
例）I can’t go with you as I have to work late tonight, but I’ll take a rain check.
使う機会がなさそうだけど・・・いつかリアルに使いたいわ！
