今日も復習にこの場を借りさせて頂きます。
■ enhance (verb)
to raise to a higher degree; intensify, magnify
例）I want to enhance my blog by making it more interactive.
例）I have tried to enhance a close relationship with readers by replying genuinely to all the comments I received.
例）Her new close enhanced her beauty.
などなど、意外と使えそうな単語だということが発覚。メモメモ。
■ modest (adj)
a modest person does not like to talk about themselves, their achievements, or abilities, even if they are successful.
自分のキャリアで成功した事を教えて？と言われてちょっともごもご。
Japanese people find it difficult to use success or successful when talking about themselves.
日本人ってシャイだから・・というところに、この単語を教えてもらいました。
shyより何だか分かってる
いろいろな意味を持っているけれど、控えめ、質素、謙虚。
例）She is genuinely modest about her achievements.
例）He continued his modest behavior for not to make political enemies.
■ persistent (adj)
粘り強い、と、しつこい、と、プラスマイナス両方の意味がある。そうか、そうだね。
例）Be persistent – don’t give up!
例）Why are you so persistent? しつこいわねっ！
例）He persistently invited her for a short walk but was rejected.どっちの意味にも取れますねｗ
